SUMMARY:Perinatal Mental Health Community of Learning: Community Resource Mapping (Part 1)
DESCRIPTION:The WisPQC Perinatal Mental Health Community of Learning is a six-session learning series designed to help individual care providers implement practical\, evidence-based changes that improve perinatal mental health care. \nThis session is part of a cohort experience focused on implementation-ready strategies aligned with the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) Perinatal Mental Health Conditions Patient Safety Bundle. Participants will build confidence through peer learning\, practical tools\, and quality improvement methods that can be applied directly within their own practice. \nThroughout the series\, participants will explore: \n\nCo-screening for mental health and substance use disorders\nCommunity resource mapping\nMultidisciplinary mental health care coordination\n\nEach session builds on the previous one\, encouraging participants to test small changes\, share lessons learned\, and collaborate with colleagues from across Wisconsin. \nRegistration is now closed for this series.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Perinatal Grand Rounds - Pregnancy Complications in the Wild
DESCRIPTION:Pregnancy-related emergencies can occur long before labor begins and often present with subtle signs that can\nrapidly progress to life-threatening conditions. Through three compelling case studies\, eclampsia and HELLP\nsyndrome\, pregnancy-induced cardiomyopathy\, and hereditary angioedema in pregnancy\, participants will explore\nthe challenges of recognizing and managing critically ill obstetric patients in prehospital\, emergency\, and transport\nsettings. This session will highlight key assessment findings\, clinical decision-making strategies\, and evidence-\ninformed interventions that can improve maternal and fetal outcomes. Attendees will leave with practical tools and\nincreased confidence to identify and respond to rare but high-risk pregnancy complications when every minute\ncounts. \nRegister

SUMMARY:Webinar: Culturally Responsive Care - Historical Trauma Effects on Maternal Health among Indigenous Women-Past and Present
DESCRIPTION:Indigenous women are two to three times likely to die of pregnancy-related causes then Caucasian women. Indigenous women experience disparities in pregnancy related death and maternal health conditions. Ongoing and Historical Trauma (colonization\, genocide\, forced removal and cultural erasure) contribute to these health inequalities. Today\, Indigenous women still experience discrimination or racism in health care settings (systemic barriers to care\, including higher rates of poverty and longer distances to quality health care services). Despite these challenges\, Indigenous people continue to be resilient and thrive due to protective factors (support systems\, spirituality and Indigenous specific resources/programs) along with receiving culturally responsive care which is key! \nRegister
