WPC Scholarship

Purpose

The purpose of the scholarship is to support individuals who might face challenges attending the Wisconsin Perinatal Conference due to limited professional development funds or other constraints. We aim to ensure that these individuals can benefit from the valuable knowledge and connections gained at the conference. By sharing their insights with peers, they help to expand the reach and impact of our organization. Additionally, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community, and we encourage applications from underrepresented professions, marginalized racial and ethnic backgrounds, underrepresented geographic areas of the state, and early career professionals. This diversity enriches our collective efforts and strengthens our mission to improve perinatal health outcomes and reduce disparities.

We will never require proof of financial need, nor will we publicly disclose scholarship recipients.

Scholarship Types

We are pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships for the Wisconsin Perinatal Conference.

  1. Registration Scholarship: Covers the cost of conference registration.
  2. Registration + Hotel Scholarship: Covers the cost of conference registration and hotel room. We will not cover food (beyond what is included in your registration) or incidentals/room charges.

Sharing is encouraged!  You are welcome to share your Travel Scholarship by sharing your room with a colleague.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Wisconsin Perinatal Conference Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must attest to having a difficulty in attending the conference without this scholarship. No proof will be required — we work on the honor system.
  • Must reside and practice in Wisconsin.
  • Must not have received a scholarship from us in the past. (Past conference attendees who have not received a scholarship are welcome to apply.)

We don’t believe in making people prove their financial situation; we trust applicants to have a genuine need.

Expectations of Recipients
We don’t believe in making people jump through additional hoops because of financial need, nor do we require them to disclose their scholarship status if they choose not to.

If you are selected to be a scholarship recipient, we kindly request three optional things:

  1. Post-Conference Survey: Please ensure you complete our survey after the event. Your feedback helps us improve and cater better to our community.
  2. Conference Promotion: Please share the conference information with your networks by forwarding our promotional emails and sharing our social media posts if you are on social media.
  3. Share Your Conference Experience: We’d be honored if you could provide a testimony about your experience. Whether you opt for anonymity or attribute your name, your story can inspire others and aid our future promotions.
Please note that submission of this application form does not guarantee the awarding of a scholarship. All applications will be thoroughly reviewed and evaluated based on the criteria set forth by the scholarship committee.

Planning Committee

Get Involved: Conference Planning Committee & Abstract Reviewers

WAPC is seeking perinatal professionals to support the planning of our Annual Conference by serving on the Conference Planning Committee and/or as an abstract reviewer. Volunteers help shape conference content by reviewing breakout session and poster abstract submissions and ensuring sessions are timely, relevant, and aligned with WAPC’s mission to advance equitable, evidence-based perinatal care. This is a meaningful opportunity to share your expertise, collaborate with colleagues across Wisconsin, and support high-quality perinatal education.
