Leading collaborative efforts that promote, develop, and coordinate systems of evidence-based, high-quality perinatal care in Wisconsin; providing and supporting professional educational programs that focus on the continuum of perinatal care; valuing and engaging the talented and diverse community of perinatal health care advocates; and increasing public awareness of perinatal health

Promote appropriate perinatal care for all populations

  • Apply an equity lens to all program planning
  • Provide relevant programming on fundamental issues affecting perinatal health
  • Identify and collaborate with stakeholders who value perinatal health

Promote and support quality improvement

  • Maintain membership in the Wisconsin Perinatal Quality Collaborative (WisPQC)
  • Provide administrative and programmatic support for WisPQC and its initiatives
  • Present educational activities focused on quality improvement in the context of clinical care

Collaborate with the Perinatal Foundation to promote and support perinatal care across the state

  • Uphold the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding
  • Engage in joint programming

Providing and supporting professional educational programs that focus on the continuum of perinatal care

Provide quality professional education to perinatal providers to assure a competent workforce

  • Implement evaluation, communication, and promotion plan for WAPC educational materials and resources
  • Provide the Wisconsin Perinatal Conference on September 26-28, 2022. Provide additional multidisciplinary educational activities on mission-focused perinatal issues
  • Explore innovative strategies for information dissemination and impact assessment of educational activities

Support development of consumer- oriented resources for providers

  • Develop consumer-focused educational materials to support appropriate perinatal care

Valuing and engaging the talented and diverse community of perinatal health care advocates

Provide opportunities and venues for people from various perspectives and disciplines to address issues in a spirit of collaboration

  • Explore strategies for including family voices
  • Assure multidisciplinary collaboration in activity planning
  • Engage other local, state, and national stakeholders with interest in improving perinatal health and outcomes

Communicate with members and those interested in perinatal health

  • Utilize social media for regular contact with WAPC membership and the perinatal health community

Grow and maintain WAPC membership

  • Increase and promote value of WAPC membership
  • Increase member engagement in WAPC activities
  • Promote and support regional organization development and programming

Increasing public awareness of perinatal health

Keep perinatal care issues at the forefront of public policy

  • Identify and disseminate educational resources that support healthy public policy
  • Disseminate public policy alerts through social media and other communication strategies to keep the public and perinatal care community informed on issues affecting perinatal outcomes

Establish strategic partners hips to highlight perinatal health issues

  • Strengthen affiliations with media outlets throughout the state
  • Explore strategies for using research and data to raise public awareness
