The Myrtle Bahm Leonard Memorial Scholarship offsets the cost childcare expenses for students in health care fields.

Established as a tribute to Mrs. Leonard at the request of her husband, the award funds three annual scholarships totaling $10,000. Recipients are selected through an application process at each institution. Since 1994, more than 45 students in health care professions and their children have benefited from the financial support provided by the Myrtle Bahm Leonard Award and the legacy of her generous and caring spirit.

“Mrs. Leonard encouraged and respected the difficult steps that individuals must take to better their life situation. In today’s society, daycare is a major obstacle that must be overcome by many students, particularly those who are at the threshold of taking a positive step to improve their life.” – Mary Jo Baisch, former Perinatal Foundation Committee Chair
